MY JOURNEY TO LIFE IN COSTA RICA
Quest for the beaches....
The story of how I arrived in Costa Rica is similar to many of my colleagues and friends here in the area. I'm originally from Ontario, Canada. I had been searching for a place to live that was warm all year round, had great beaches and friendly people. I found all three and much, much more here in the Playas del Coco area. I researched Costa Rica, and specifically the province of Guanacaste, for almost two years before I made the move to relocate permanently. I remember planning my trip and then falling in love with the area as soon as I stepped off the plane! Eight years later and I am still here, loving every day of living in paradise. I love this area for many reasons. It is very close to the award winning International Airport in Liberia. With over 250 beaches in this province alone there is always a new one to explore. I like living in Playas del Coco because it's a beautiful, friendly place that has all amenities centrally located. There's a great selection of restaurants, beach bars, grocery stores and other necessities. The climate here is amazing and this is one of the only areas in the world where you are guaranteed hot, breezy, rain free days for the five months from December to April. The green season is beautiful with warm rains, slightly lower temperatures and mist rising from the mountainsides in the mornings. I encourage anyone that loves warm weather, clear skies, beautiful ocean views and friendly people to strongly consider this area. I have felt at home here since the first day I arrived and I'm sure you will feel the same way.
The sunset is my favorite time of day
There is just something about watching the sun fall into the water that has always captivated me. Here on the Pacific coast we are treated to spectacular sunsets almost every day of the year. I like to walk the beach, or take my beach chair and a glass of wine and watch the clouds and colors unfold as the sky changes from day to night.
